Growth-regulated alpha protein (Gro-a)

Target (abbrv.) Gro-a
Target (full name) Growth-regulated alpha protein
Somalogic ID (Sequence ID) SL003173 (2985-35_1)
Entrez Gene Symbol CXCL1
UniProt ID P09341
UniProt Comment
  • Has chemotactic activity for neutrophils. May play a role in inflammation and exerts its effects on endothelial cells in an autocrine fashion. In vitro, the processed forms GRO-alpha(4-73), GRO-alpha(5-73) and GRO-alpha(6-73) show a 30-fold higher chemotactic activity.

All locus annotations are based on the sentinel SNP (rs3117600) and 8 proxy variant(s) that is/are in linkage disequilibrium r2 ≥ 0.8. Linkage disequilibrium is based on data from the 1000 Genomes Project, phase 3 version 5, European population and was retrieved using SNiPA's Block Annotation feature.
